|
|
Hey guys,
I have seen a couple of Fatburger restaurants in my trips out west but never visited. Are they any good? I sometimes buy frozen hamburger patties at my normal grocer, but when shopping at Wal-Mart one day I was limited to Sam's Choice (lots of soy filler), Bubba ($7/lb, for hamburger!?!), and Fatburger. I grabbed the Fatburger patties without studying the box (mistake!) and have absolutely regretted the purchase. The patties are so filled with corn starch and vegetable oil that they don't even cook like real meat. They have a flavor exactly like school lunch / TV dinner Salisbury Steak and they are filled with peculiar hard bits, as though a bit of cow hoof got through the grinder or something. Are Fatburger restaurants as nasty as this, or have they just cheapened their brand by licensing this foul garbage?

I'm sure the quality is better at the restaurant, but it does say something about the taste of their product. I'd say just go with the bubba burgers because a big box will last you a long time if you buy in bulk and it actually tastes pretty decent. You could get a big pack of ground beef and press and wrap some patties and freeze them too, so then you could add more flavor and get better quality meat.

Yeah, forming, tenderizing, and packaging my own would be the best. Good suggestion, thanks. That's what I'll do next time.
Have you eaten at the restaurants? The box claims that it contains authentic Fatburger patties, but I have a hard time believing it.

Yeah, In-N-Out has some darn good burgers for fast food. Culver's are pretty good, too.

Five guys give you a lot of options and if you know what you like it is the best place to go. I agree with BreakinGods their fries are not that great.
