I have been unemployed since November 2014 and haven't been able to find a job that matches my education, skills and experience. Yesterday I went for an interview and the interviewer asked me what was I doing since November last year. I said, I applied for a job with this company and he said I remember rejecting your application. When you hear answers like that and see people with much less experience, knowledge or skill find a job it makes some deep changes in attitude.

Does anyone have a view on the statement below?

The longer a person is unemployed the less likely he/ she becomes employable and he/she become less interested in finding one.

Once you're rejected from a position, never apply for a job at that company again in the hopes things change.

They rejected you, they don't want you, so you don't want them

Do other job solicitations for jobs you don't like. Eventually you'll get a job you're good at but really really hate.

I think that is what not having a job for half a year does. You become so desperate that you will reach out to any thing that might work. In all fairness 5 month ago I applied for supervisor position and was not even interviewed because I am not bilingual (english-spanish). Now I applied for Manager position and was interviewed and I still am not bilingual.

Making friends with your coworkers helps too.
