So why exactly would you need to
use "alloc" ?
I know it's to allocate memory, but why would u need to allocate that memory?

It's like creating a new text file. The text file can't exist if it doesn't contain some bits or bytes right? If a text file is 0 bits, then there's no text file.
The same way, if you're gonna create a new code, the code needs some memory to exist. |
oh.. i see...
whenever i create my (crappy) codes,
i don't use alloc, and it works fine?

As long as there is enough room for the code, i.e. same length, not an issue, but if it's longer it will break. All about opcode lengths.
