Hi guys, I am new to the forums and also new to using Cheat Engine for things other than changing basic values.
I have done the tutorial as of last night, however I'm stuck with one thing.
Everything seems to work fine when using Cheat Engine, apart from when I am looking for base pointers. I can do the first step fine without any problems; I do a get the very first address by doing an Exact Value scan, then I find out what writes to it. After that I do the Hexadecimal scan with the correct offset fine and add the pointer to the bottom address list. However, this is when I have issues, I try to find the second pointer by finding out what accesses the first pointer, but once the debugger is attached for the second time, the game stops responding and needs to be closed.
I had a similar issue first time round where I couldn't even attach the first debugger, but I changed the debugger settings to VEH and that seemed to fix it. Now I'm just stuck with finding multilevel pointers because at this point it physically isn't possible for me.
Make note that I'm currently using the VEH debugger setting with 'Override existing breakpoints when setting breakpoints' unchecked. I have also tried the Kernelmode debugger and Windows debugger but I can't even manage to attach the first debugger with those.
EDIT: I am also on windows 7 64bit, using CE 6.3
Any help would be appreciated.

I have no idea what this does, it comes up with a lot of stuff that makes absolutely no sense to me. Could anyone give a short explanation on how to make use of this?

First of all :
Forget about anything you have done ..
Secondly :
Find the address again
Thirdly :
click on it and then "Pointer scan for this address "
Fourth :
When you get too many pointers , just save .
Now the fifth Thing is : If the address changes upon Changing mode, character,Hp or what ever you are playing
Then just search for the new address
and then click on memory view-->Tools-->Pointer scan
Then open the old one that you saved
And then In the "Scan" in the pointer menu just press -->Scan using different address
wait till it finish and double click on the pointer that you found .and you are done
Note : IF you found something like "Csh84BF.tmp"+anyvalue
Then Contact me , i can help you
