How do I cheat?

Forgive me, I didn't know where to post this topic as I am quite new here...
You see, I'm trying to release a joke project called Sonic 3 "Epic Edition. I've made all the changes I've wanted to using Cheat Engine. When I was done I saved an EXE replacing the original one but that renders it to be unable to start up.
I was hoping someone here could help me if it isn't to much to ask.

try making a new one by saving it somewhere else replacing trainer while generating never get replaced ( thats what i have experienced )
also your problem is not much clear !! do u mean you cant see the trainer after you try to run the .exe trainer ??

Sorry if I wasn't too clear. I made this post when I was a tad tired last night. I mean the EXE won't start up what-so-ever.
EDIT: Let me try explaining things a bit more clearly. I've been working on a project called Sonic 3 "Epic" Edition that completely breaks the game and renders it almost unbeatable. It's a joke project that I hope to share with my friends sometime this month.
I've been using Cheat Engine for this. Whenever I load up the game I check some values and keep them frozen to accomplish this. I'm trying to find a way to save these frozen values to the EXE itself so I won't need to always go to Cheat Engine and check them. I want the EXE to come with the frozen values already loaded so that I can release my joke project.
Does this make sense?

Start over. Recompile the .exe with one cheat, only. Keep adding cheats, individually to see which alterations are causing the issue. If none of the cheats allow the application to finish executing, there may be a CRC at start-up, somewhere. You can check this by adding a simple/safe NOP on a trivial instruction, recompiling it and testing.
However, it could also be the code that you're altering and/or how you're altering it etc.

I followed your instructions and the good news is it worked. The EXE now successfully starts up! On the other hand none of the codes appear to be working. I'm unsure what I'm doing wrong, but at least I've made some progress with your help.

Very sorry for a double post but I have an update!
abhijeet1001 added me on Skype and he helped alot (Seriously, thanks!) but there's still a problem that I am facing. The EXE starts up fine but none of the codes are activated upon start up. Is there anyway to fix this?

Just make sure that your assembly code is correct and will be executed by the game(you can also add assembly code to create a thread for writing the hacks), and also check your values and pointers too.
I can help you with the assembly instructions or code to be patched to the executable if you can post the pointers here.
