tl;dr smoke meth in moderation, be successful
also it's ridiculously easy to find meth and incredibly cheap. gave my friend $5 and he gave me 150mg. smoke 5-10mg every 3-4 hours smoking ~3 times each day. also, a little piece of knowledge that not many people know. meth is as safe as adderall (amphetamine) when taken in small doses, just more potent. so taking 5-10mg a few times a week is pretty safe as far as long term neurotoxic effects go.

i'll see where i end up. i understand that meth can be addictive and when used recreationally in large doses can be damaging to the brain along with several other side effects, but is pretty safe in low doses like this. that's why they prescribe people 5-10mg doses of meth in a medicine known as desoxyn.
so not only is it relatively harmless in the doses i'm using it in, but unlike with stronger opiates such as heroin, i've never had a problem with abusing stimulants. with opiates it's use all day everyday or don't use at all. there's no medium, there's no such thing as "i just smoke heroin on the weekends" for me.
i can't binge with stimulants, i can go like 3-4 days at most before i'm burnt out, physically and mentally exhausted, need sleep and a day or two of laying around to recover. i've had no problem taking adderall and focalin 2-3 times a week with 1-2 month tolerance breaks every 2-3 months, no problem with snorting or freebasing coke, no problem with smoking/shooting up meth. i've always been able to stop if i needed to.
people generally don't abuse adderall to the extreme that they abuse meth. while you can shoot up amphetamine, people aren't shoooting up or smoking adderall. most are taking 20-40mg of their adderall prescription a day while meth addicts are smoking or shooting up a gram (1000mg) or more a day. this is why you see people seem to be much more negatively affected by meth than amphetamine. if people were taking that much amphetamine they'd be just like the people who do that much meth. meaning when people take that little meth it's as safe or safer than adderall. i'd argue safer since it's more potent so you're not using as much (if you can control your use).
now, that's not to say i wouldn't prefer an adderall prescription to buying meth off the street mainly for social stigma, the fact that it's not as addictive, that i can look normal on adderall but am obviously tweaking when i smoke a good amount of meth (but right now you wouldn't be able to tell i'm on a stimulant without looking at my pupils or maybe the weird patterns i keep repeating with my hands), i've never experienced this with adderall because i've never taken more than 30mg at a time but with meth if i smoke too much i get scatterbrained and am unable to comprehend much while i'm studying so i never take large doses, and not having to worry about parents finding it

It's just a funny coincidence that I made this super serious deal with myself to stop smoking for which I thought was gonna be a few months, but after only two days, tadaaa!

Yeah, that's the problem. This way people can continue buying it and/or buy bigger quantities, as opposed to the more expensive drugs. This makes it more dangerous than the more addictive drugs, imo.

i've been using stimulants on and off for 4 years now. first tried meth 3-4 years ago. i'm thinking a problem with stimulants would have been apparent by now if i was using in excess. was only using heroin for a little over a year and look how much damage it did in that time.
the times i've overindulged in stimulants aren't very often or for more than 1-5 days usually and when coming down you feel like shit, just like its name.
that negative feeling while coming down, for me personally, makes me think to myself i do not want to feel like this ever again and not binge like that for a while. my desire to get high does not surpass the negative side effects of stimulants in the way that the negative side effects of heroin don't stop me from using more heroin. i also don't enjoy meth as much as i enjoy heroin so my desire to get a recreational high off it is absent.
the stimulant addict will think "if i do more of the stimulant then i won't feel as bad." their addiction will be stronger than negative side effects and they will continue using meth when they should stop. they are unable to stop even if they want to.
