I'm getting interested in starting to develop a website, but all I have taken is a basic HTML/CSS course. I want a website that I can sell beats/singles/albums/mixtapes on, and offer some free music as well. Do you guys think this would take a long time to learn web development for this kind of application? If it's too much I might just buy a layout.
Also you said that's for hosting, so that means you can buy a domain without paying for it to be online? Then it would just be held basically as a domain name place holder?

Making a secure web-store is actually difficult. But you can use existing systems if you want.

The difficulties I run into would be people just using like FlashGot and apps like that to download without paying? Or do you mostly mean people will get intercepted on payments and someone would steal their money. Honestly I'm pretty sure I'd be more inclined to use an existing system if it's secure to offer customers safety with their information. I'm very new to this stuff because I switched majors when I realized I loved working with computers, but I didn't want to just be coding so much.

| just buy a year of Squarespace and you get a domain for free. they have a store layout for music and everything, if not just use bandcamp which I prefer because it allows me to download music I buy in FLAC without charging more like some other platforms
