Cheat Engine

Hello everyone, I am very new to cheat engine (game hacking in general). I downloaded cheat engine v 6.2 yesterday and it was working fine, but it doesn't seem to be working anymore.

Today I tried to use it and it kept coming back with "Found: 0". I decided to test it on something simple like the calc.exe program in windows. I set the memory to 20, hit "First Scan" and it returned numerous addresses. I changed the memory in the calculator to 30 hit MS, went back to cheat engine, typed in 30 and hit "Next Scan"; nothing.

This happens no matter what I tried to do. I even tried going back into the tutorial, and it still is coming back with "Found: 0", even though I have the exact values in the tutorial.

I have tried uninstalling/reinstalling but it didn't seem to do anything.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

I don't recommend calc as it's not as easy as you may think. (strings instead of numbers)

Also, make sure that the value type is correct (could be float or double instead of 4 bytes). If you don't know, "all" tends to find it (but is slow and finds a lot of useless stuff as well)

Try the tutorial if you think CE isn't working.

If it doesn't even work on the tutorial step 2 (4 byte exact value), then check your computer if you're being 'protected' from dangerous programs like cheat engine...

And make sure you are running as admin, and that the temp folder of windows is writable

I've been using CE for a lot of game. I'm playing FF Origins for PS1 and I used CE for I, but at II doesn't work. Why this is happening?
