Hey guys, I just recently bought D3, and even while playing on minimum I cannot seem to get 60 fps. This website is telling me that my build should be okay. Would overclocking my cpu be a solution? It's currently at stock settings. Is upgrading necessary/worth it?

I'm gonna guess it's reporting your setup wrong.
http://vvcap.net/db/yx9dYnjlqItLxNZh7fQZ.png is my cyri on d3.
note i'm using an HD 4850 with a faster processor and i barely pass minimum, fail recommended on gpu (update suggested only, i still pass the "recommended" specs)
i would say it's your processor, though.

This website is weird, completely different requirements for you than me. Would it be possible to Overclock my processor, do you think?

He passes because he has a 4870. The game is not that processor intensive.

What resolution are you using?
How much FPS in maxed settings?
In the ati card settings, did you let "let the application decide" everywhere or did you force some settings (like anti aliasing for example...)?
deathmatron wrote: | Would overclocking my cpu be a solution? | No, definitely. A 2.0Ghz cpu can run any blockbuster game with all setting maxxed out if you've got the proper gfx card. FYI I ran binary domain (min CPU 2.6GHz) in maxed settings on a 1.9GHz CPU and don't remember getting any fps issue.
deathmatron wrote: | Is upgrading necessary/worth it? | For the cpu: no/no.
For the gfx card: postponing my answer until your answer my questions above.
And this might interest you, especially the posts from Jurannok and tejx.

canirunit is really not that accurate. I still recommend yougamers, it gives a better reading in my opinion.

The FPS shows up at zero, however i'll get lag spikes while killing stuff.
1920x1080
The FPS shows up at zero, however while standing still everything is smooth, but if i run around in town, I'll get some lag.

Have you finished downloading the game entirely?
I had terrible lag even on lowest settings because I was impatient and kept playing it after it reached 75% downloaded or whatever, once I let it fully download I could run it on max everything no sweat.
That's probably not your issue but you never know.

"let the application decide" everywhere | Wonderful, the FPS display is on the fritz!
What driver version are you using? (Latest is 12.6 afaik)
Perhaps doing the HardwareClass edit mentioned here can help.
Did you do the graphic card bios update mentioned in the link I posted earlier? If not, then make sure your card's P/N and SKU match those on sapphire's site, and do it (or not). Note that, as opposed to what tejx said, it is NOT necessary to install DOS and reinstall windows afterwards, just lookup how to "Make a DOS Bootable USB Stick".
Anyway some people have reported playing the game without trouble with a radeon HD 4870, so you do not need to buy a new card, imo.
