Judging from what I've seen, they've done a fantastic job. There's a lot of changes, but I can't spot a single change that I dislike. One thing they did that I'm quite fond of is something that the other devs should have done a long time ago, brought back the old weapons AND kept the new ones (why they take weapons out in the first place, fuck if I know).
Not to mention the completely reworked designs (for nearly everything, especially the enemies), and graphics. And well... they've just outdone themselves, they're actually making a sequel instead of a repackage with a few new features.
