I was building coreutils. SSH'ing to a Linux server box I have at another house |
Meant to ask, have you ever had to use formal methods for analysis phase in projects (assuming you carry out the duty of analyst)?
Just asking because theres languages like OCL and Z specification language which we might see a bit towards the end of the year.

I'm sure those sorts of things are popular at some companies but not where I work. Seems a waste I learnt all that UML and shit
I guess the thing is the development I do would be classed as agile. Other models might use stuff like UML more though

The course material has also shifted this year from DFDs, E-Rs, and other structured analysis tools to UML. Apparently some major reform, which I think is appropriate considering the bibliograpy for last year was asking for books from 1989.

Aviar, unless you are going to work for the government, I doubt you'll use those languages. I'm home sick today, so if you want I could look for some old reference materials from last year. I had a course called 'Requirements' for which I had to do a presentation on formal languages. I don't remember a whole lot about it, considering how I hated the course: documentation was never something that peaked my interest.
PS: did you make a thread about this before? I feel like we talked about this in the past.

I'm posting in this thread because it's giving me a good time.
Mostly Wiccaan's posts, but Slugsnack also seems a tad less boring to me now.
And I remember Extalia. It's still in my old pc's bookmarks.
