So i just took my hard drive out from my laptop because it gave me an error 0000: read verification failed. I attached it through a usb ata/atapi bridge onto mt computer. I can see the hard driver on the computers folder but i can not access it? When i try to open it, it tells me " The Parameter is INccorect" Is there a way to fix this? I really need my files. please and thankyou.

You probably droped/bumped the laptop while it was on, and the hard disk broke. if it did, you out of luck.

Well i did accdentally drop it, but it was in sleep mode. Hmm would using a 3rd party program help me recover my data?

Btw the way how would i know if it broke? Cause when i attached it, it can access one of the drives on it but it cant access the main one?

drive fitness test for hitachi: http://www.hitachigst.com/support/downloads/

But I recommend taking the harddisk out of your laptop and put it in another computer, and then try to copy the files.

If that doesn't work well enough(harddisk interface keeps locking up):
On that other comp install linux and another empty harddisk with the same size or more and look into ddrescue so you can do a sector by sector copy from one harddisk to another (If your harddisk is big enough you might skip the new harddisk and use disk images, but that's more complex...)
When the copy is done (or as far as possible, with leaving some chunks that are completely unreadable) copy the files from the disk and hope the important data isn't damaged (and hope the filedescriptor table is intact)

Unless it has a bootable version. Too lazy to click to find out, but WD has a bootable version.
