Now my computer won't read my portable hard drive which has all my shit on it. Other computers in the house will though.

No trust me what he has isn't a computer, it's a typewriter with a screen.
Even I could pick up a craptop for $300 and it runs all my programs great, just can't game.

It has to be a laptop, if you can show me one for $300 that can run SR3 and Skyrim in 720 on any settings I will be shocked.

y does it have to be a laptop? wouldnt you jsut get a shit netbook for portable (or even a phone) and a decent pc for vidya

Netbooks are an abomination of technology and if I ever get my hands on one I will break it in two.

and I'm getting a good rig, not just something that will do the job, I want something that will last for a couple of years till I can afford a 10,000 dollar computer

| really if you work for a month you will get a computer that is fucking fantastic for a pretty long time, and if you continue to work if you can always put in newer parts. $600 can do wonders.

my parents are helping me afford a new computer as well, they are putting 500$ towards it approximately(because the have been saving up as well), and i will have a couple hundred dollars by the end of the month.
currently, my rig will have either a i5 quad core proc, or amd equivalent, 8 GB of ram, and an ati radeon gpu that can basically at least run any game on low specs with a full fps
