Hello. I am that kind of person that inorder to be good at something I must know WHY I do as I do.

I felt over some weird things, some problems, and some ideas...

Let's carry on to the question shall we?

1. Why do you need to multipliy with 8 and when do you need to do it?

2. Cheat engine tutorial doesn't explain it very well (in my opionion)
What is...Pointers? What do we use them for and when is it usefull to
use those?

3. On online game when I tries to hack money I normaly get 1 of each byte? Is this normal? what to do afterwards? Is this wrong?

I do following to get my reasult ( after I chosed process ofc )

A. My first scan is
Scan type: Exact Value (money amount)
Value type: All(Byte to Double)

B. I do my first scan and keep writing my money in the expact amount but then I normaly end up with those (with money at 1000 gold)
1 Byte: 231 (or so)
2x 2,4,8 Byte: 1000/total amount of money

Does this mean it's imposible to hack with cheat engine? Or does it need I to know more o: ? Or am I just doing it whole thing wrong? Do I need to do pointers?

Please answar I would really like to hack this game ^^...I've done the Cheat engine Tutorial. But haven't gone much further than that.

Edit: I redone my hack for test, Still no succus but I got this little idea that the value I can find is the "Display" so it basicly display the value "money" so somehow I need to get from Display to money right? or how do I do this pointers?

1: You only need to do that in older flash games (as2)
as to why: they use a value encoding like floating point but a bit easier. The first 3 bits are control bits followed by the decimal value
If you shift the value by 3bit (multiple by you get the way it's stored in memory

in short: A pointer is a 4 byte value that represents another address.
You use them for situations when the game allocated memory during runtime instead of static (so basically always)

3: That is because the value you are looking for does not exist on your computer

Yes, install cheat engine on the system that DOES contain the value and use it there.

The problem is gaining access to that system.

Here's a few suggestions:
Kidnap someone the administrator loves and demand he changes the value
Buy weapons and hire some people. Then invade the building the server is on and while the people you hired keep everyone out of your way you install CE and edit the values (Or just use the admin tools there)


If these things are not possible due to a lack of fundings (or morals), then perhaps you can find an alternate value that is related to it and IS stored on your system (e.g perhaps walkspeed can be tricked by doing multiple walk commands)
Of course, that will not work on a properly designed game
