I think some error with esi and edi registers were reported before but I am not sure so here it is.

The highlighted code on the picture should be

mov eax,[edi-04]

instead of esi.

On a side note, does anyone know what is the exact purpose of vcwprintf_s?
It is in msvcr90.dll but hard to find a proper documentation about it.

it is a known bug. But usually this shouldn't happen too often (negative index in an array, or using a object in front of a known object)

As for vcwprintf_s check http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/28d5ce15(v=vs.80).aspx
It's probably a secure version of sprintf but then for widestrings

Yes, it has happened with negative offsets only.

Thanks for the link, I have found another MSDN page before where vcw wasn't mentioned but on your page I have found a link for that exact function.
