Cheat Engine

I am trying to use cheat engine 6.1 an it is not scanning like anything at all i have tried it for runescape and may other games i select the process it has no images for my processes and i try to scan and it does nothing just make a noise as it would of done when it was finished but it is not even scanning the process at all can someone please advise me i am not getting any error messages it just it will not scan. i mean i can click the new scan button but it comes up with zero address in the side bar.

1: Make sure you target the correct process (e.g it's almost never firefox.exe)
2: Don't try it on multiplayer games as the value you are looking for is not stored on your computer
3: Try unknown initial value scans combined with changed/unchanged
