I have been using windows 7 for quite a long time now and I would like to try something new.
I would appreciate any suggestion.
I also would like to try Linux but I know nothing about it.

Try Ubuntu, it's very user friendly and you can try it from a LiveCD without hosing your Windows install at all.

NOTE THIS NEXT ONE IS VERY ADVANCED, NOT FOR THE FAINT OF HEART
Or if you are thinking about Mac, try osX on VMWARE.

Thanks I am going to try it first.
Also, I really would like to install osx on a PC to be able to run Final Cut without having to buy an expensive mac.
Is it really that hard ?

Yes and no, depending on your hardware. Note that OSx86 can only run on Intel based systems (Intel processor, not AMD/ARM/anything else). Also the input lag while running Mac on VMware may become annoying after prolonged usage (I know, since I'm running one myself for cross-platform coding). The lag issue can be mitigated though by directly installing Mac on your drive, but it is more complex and confusing, also requiring another Mac system to perform pre-installation modifications to the installation disc.

If you are aiming for simplicity, Ubuntu (or any other Linux distro) would be your best bet. No Final Cut support though.

Wine is a poor platform to game from. Most likely it isn't Wine so much as 3D support and really good video drivers are not well supported for Linux.
If your intent was to use Linux to get around game protections you are no better off using Linux for it as opposed to Windows.

Yes it is. You can use a program for Linux called CrossOver Professional. If you need assistance in using it or installing it just pm/im/post here and I am willing to help.

I wasn't intending to bypass game protections (yet)
I just wanted to try and run the game.
Since i know nothing about ubuntu i googled and they said that gameguard detects wine as a hacking program.
I really would like to know if i would be able to run online games on ubuntu as i am considering installing it instead of windows

There are a lot of gamers out there that would gladly throw off the Windows yoke if more games ran under Linux as well as they do under Windows. If gaming is what you are after Windows is the platform of choice other than consoles.
If general hackery is your preference then Linux is the way to go. You can customize the OS to your specific needs in a way Windows has wet dreams about doing.
Personally, I have never had any luck running anything under Wine. I found it wasn't worth the time to fiddle with it to get it working. This was some years ago, but still I have Windows for gaming. Wine is also not the only Windows Emulator for Linux. I'm sure there are others.
Another option would be to try to exploit Gamegaurd in some way to allow you to do what you want.
