I went through one linksys router in three years. I thought it was a pretty good life span, but then i lost another one within 3 months.

I don't recommend you get ASUS either because its giving me problems currently.

I think the best choice is D-link or if your cheap TP-link

Well my router was the most expensive shit at Best Buy at the time. It generated the speed test result in my signature below.

megabits or megabytes? and what model is your router?

sorry for the double post, but i just want to let everyone know that the Belkin router was HORRIBLE. I had such a bad experience with it! Slow internet speed, couldn't connect, couldn't access the admin panel, and much much more. I have switched back to Netgear. Thank you guys for your advice.

A mod may now lock this thread.

I got rid of the router a few months ago, not because it was broke, but just because it was out dated. I regret it, seeing as my new router is worse than my 5 year old one. lol

Also, Megabytes

Well, I have now a Linksys E2000, it is nothing close as fast.

My old one was a linksys too, but I don't know the model. It looked like this: http://www.consumersearch.com/wireless-routers/linksys-wrt54gl
But was way nicer. And way more expensive. I don't have the router anymore, so that is why I can't look at the model code. Notice the date on my speed test too, that was my last week with my old router.
