I'm just suggesting things to prevent bottlenecks and future proof your system.

I'd go with that picture. The box looks cool so the board must be amazing.

Yeah but we have to wait for the Z68 to launch here. If I remember right Z68 won't be launched until the end of April start of May.

It's just a new chipset system.

Quote:
Gigabyte Z68X-UD7 Spotted in Taiwan Stores
Stores in Taiwan have started stocking up on Gigabyte's latest high-end LGA1155 motherboard, the GA-Z68X-UD7 B3. Based on the new Z68 chipset that combines the overclocking capabilities of P67 with the Flexible Display Interface (FDI) feature of H67, Z68 will be Intel's most functional desktop chipset for the LGA1155. Gigabyte's board carries forward the feature-set of the P67A-UD7, and adds a GUI-based Hybrid EFI setup program. Quite surprisingly, there are no display outputs, so we're not quite sure why the designers opted for Z68 in the first place.

The GA-Z68X-UD7 uses a 24-phase VRM that uses driver-MOSFETs to power the CPU, four DDR3 DIMM slots to support dual-channel memory, four PCI-Express x16 slots supporting 3-way SLI and CrossFireX. Gigabyte is probably using an NVIDIA nForce 200 bridge chip for the additional PCI-E lanes. Storage connectivity includes four SATA 6 Gb/s, six SATA 3 Gb/s, and two eSATA/USB combo ports. There are at least four USB 3.0 ports. Gigabyte's new board will reach western markets later this month, after Z68's formal launch.

You're getting a P67-UD7 with a 2500k? Pump that up to a 2600k and enjoy the 4.5GHz+ overclocks. Dump the power supply and get a Corsair one. Never skimp on a power supply and Corsair makes some of the best.

What's your budget? With that I can suggest some better alternatives to what you have.

i don't want a 2600k(anymore) i don't need 4 more threads at all and if i hype up the price over 1900 dollars i'll give my dad a heart attack i'm mostly a gamer but i'm going to learn to program on it as well since i only know how to write calculators for now lol and i think the psu is good enough i'm not gonna overclock anything
Just because you dont need it doesn't mean you shouldn't get it. With twin 6950's the last thing you would want is to be held back by anything less. Its all or nothing. Though if this is just a gaming rig, you don't really need to go intel. AMD works just as well for gaming.

yeahhh not at this point.

the intel processors are too ridiculous in their single thread performance which is only amplified even more comically by the absurd overclocks. there's not enough heavy threads to gain back the performance.

maybe in dx11 now that drivers support threaded draw call submission, but the per core performance is still so skewed it doesn't even matter regardless.

One things wasn't mentioned is Z68 supports SSD caching.
And that board cost NT$11,900.

$400 is pretty steep for a mobo, but people who do the whole SSD for boot will be happy with the caching.

But you don't have a SSD in your build. You'd be missing out on one of the key functions of this new chipset.

i'll buy one or two later on i also decided to switch to the asus mobo reviewers say it's better than the ud7 and switched the 2500k for a 2600k with the saved money from the mobo
