Hello there,
Using CE 5.6, I am trying to get a little help in aiming to the red cross reticle in this game.
Directx mess seems to work very well, and I can search among the textures.
My problem is I find every single texture in the game except this damn red plus + .
If anyone has a little idea about this . Maybe it's actually among the textures I see, but when I lock the one containing the +, it's not flashing...
Thank you |

Not sure why you want find the red plus
Do you mean the red plus by directx mess itself (targettexture.bmp) ? _________________

In fact I've read your tutorial. And in Freelancer, there's a targeting reticle that appears around the ship you've selected, so that you shoot at it to damage the enemy's vessel.
The thing is I find absolutely all the textures, on this picture for example, from the HUD elements indicating scanners, speed etc.., to the brackets around the targeted ship.., but not the plus reticle that shows where to aim :/
It's a coincidence though that targettexture.bmp and the aiming reticle "plus" texture from Freelancer are looking quite the same x).
Thank you for your attention

ah yes, same concept as wing commander
It could be the plus isn't a texture at all but just drawn by rendering 2 lines (or a texture of 1x1 pixels that is drawn 2 times, one time stretched horizontal and one time stretched vertical)
One thing you could go with is locking the enemy ship's texture and inputting a lag value. That way ce calculates where the ship will be after a specific amount of time and target there. (But it's not quite as accurate as it doesn't take into account distance and speed of a projectile) _________________

Aw I thought so :/. In fact I really often get killed in this game against other players in PvP >.< It's quite frustrating and at the end I'm always so nervous . xD
I knew that CE could do some nice stuff about aim bot and I wanted to have a try with an advanced cheating program (for me yeah x). I got quite excited to see that I could run Freelancer with directx mess and all worked fine.
The thing is CE can actually target and lock even the texts in my game! So I was wondering if there's really nothing else to try :/. I'm going to get further with this grr ><
Thank you anyway, I will try what you said about lag value to see how it is, if there is eventually nothing to do about finding this damn frustrating "+" which is actually the only one thing CE cannot target!

I must say it's frustrating that the only one thing I cannot target and lock with CE is this red reticle . The texts like player's names and all is found by directx mess...
Is there really no way ? This red cross is part of the directx 3D ? It looks like the game is teasing me! ><.
I found a mod with a feature that allows us to change this reticle's color but it's still the same whether it's blue or multicolor, CE won't find it :/ |
