My graphics card is overheating a lot. Anything I can buy/do to stop this?

Some things you can do to overall help your entire case:
- Rewire everything, use 'twisty-ties' to get wires out of the way of airflow and not just dangling everywhere.
- Use rounded cables if you can afford them, they're fairly cheap now and great for airflow issues.
- Be sure that any and all fans are working and are not blocked by hardware / cables.
- Clean your computer regularly.

If all else fails, take the side of the case off and use a box fan. ;D
(I say this cause I do it lol.)

My graphics card is radeon x1950 pro.

And It's funny you should mention using a box fan. At the moment I have pulled my computer out and have 3 fans surrounding it. Although, last time I did this my power supply blew (Sparks and everything)

Your PSU is fucked if it's shooting sparks, get a new one?

He said last time, not this time.

I will assume you cleaned the dust since you opened it. I would look into a new cooler. The card age shows me it uses agp which is very old. Im not sure what you would be willing to spend because you could just buy a new gfx card for around 100usd and out put the card.

There is a chance that board already has one, but the fact it has agp means its older than my N64.

Ok, alot of things could contribute to it's overheating, the easiest way to prevent it is to either

1: Get a Gpu fan (cost about £20)
2: Get some GOOD case fans (£10+ ea) - i'd recommend 2 in, 2 out if your a bit low on cash.
3: Make sure your HSF isn't facing the GPU (if it's not stock)
4: Move other cards away from it if you have the space
5: Underclocking your GPU WILL be the best option but isn't too noob friendly

if your computer's a laptop, then you buy a cooling fan..
if you computer's a desktop pc,then you should buy an avr then put the plug in 110 voltage
