Once formatted did you write any new data to the drive? If not it may be possible to recover the data.

I am not endorsing this product, but the writeup that goes along with it will explain in more detail what happens when you format.

If you reformated C drive to install an OS on it, then no, you cannot get any data back from it. however, if you did a reinstall of OS, you should be able to find your old files still on there.
