I'm sure not everyone can work as hard as you to earn a new computer, most of us have to mooch off our parents and we can't go around asking them for things on a whim.

Actually, for the best fps across the most range of games a console is best in terms of price:performance. You actually need to have a good PC to play good games with good FPS. Console plays anything that is designed for it.

i herd dat mw2 pc has lotsa haxors so i didn't buy it becoz i didn't wana spend a precious 60 bucks on something i'd have a hard time playing

@OP
Since there is no console support in MW2, you can not tweak cvars like you used to be able to. These could range from lowering volumetric fog to turning off shaders and what not. There were also other tweaks that would improve the games playability namely the set g_maxpackets command. I could drop latency nearly 10 ms using that setting. Since we don't have that option under MW2 though you are pretty much limited to what is in your Options menu. Though you may be able to poke around the configs, or ini files and tweak some settings. If you tweak a file like that make sure after your changes you set the file Read Only this way the game won't overwrite it and revert your changes. One other thing you can do is to change ownership of the file.
