Any good .wav compressors out there?
I have a ton of .wav files (1.20gb+) and i want to compress all of my wav files to the tiniest file size possible.
Thanks in Adv!

Re-encode them maybe. Do they have to be wav files.

| Re encoding them to mp3 is the best I can think of. High quality mp3 doesnt lose much.

It actually loses a lot.
But MP3 is what I would recommend for a low size as well.
320kbps mp3 vs. 920 kbps lossless. There is data being removed bro.

A good system is more likely to pick up the differences imo.
Like at church (inb4 any comment) we have a pretty nice set of speakers/bass bins and you can tell differences. Can tweak some stuff out by equalizing it nice though.

Ok, since i've seen more comments about mp3's than ogg's, i guesss i'll go with it. Thanks
BTW, now i'm looking for a good wav to mp3 converter and i've seen this program: http://www.nch.com.au/switch/mp3.html?gclid=CM_Dh-SXvqcCFQoTbAodIFw3_g
Do you think it's any good? Or should i search for another one. I'll try the demo.
If you can suggest any audio converting software that is free, that would be awesome! Thanks

| Get audacity, its free, and google Lame plugin for audacity, also free. Open the wav in audacity and export it as an mp3. Cannot think of an easier way but i dont know if it lets you choose the bit rate.

Personally I use 4EasySoft Converter, it does almost any audio, and it will do video as well, not to mention converting say a youtube music video to just an audio file.
But I would follow Hero's suggestion to use Audacity as it's free and has alot of other cool features, like recording live conversation.
