Hi,
i just wanted to try "hacking" some games
I downloaded Cheat Engine from this page and tried it with Empire Earth II (i thought it must be easy)
So, when I selected EEII and opened it, i tried to make the first scan, but the error message "scan error:" popped up.
I used the search engine and found some thread, but there were only people who didn't get their problem solved.
I'm using the latest Version (6.0), downloaded from this site, running as an administrator, using win 7 64 bit... but nothing works!
I tried it just for fun also with firefox.exe, but the same problem. This is so annoyingly!!!

Sounds like a badly configured windows install where the temp folder is unwritable for the administrator
Just give the administrators group write access to the temp folder (%temp%)
Or what also might work:
create the folder c:\scanresults and make sure that folder has write access to the administrators group
then in settings->scan settings change the scan folder to "c:\scanresults\"
or try 5.6.1

Thanks for your quick support...
I edited the access permittions and now i can make the scan.
But there is still a problem:
I want to edit the amount of, for example, wood.
I have an amount of wood of 490, so 490*8=3920.
I fill in "Value" 3920, and "Scan Type" exact value, "first scan".
The program found many adresses.
I built a house to have an amount of wood of only 450
450*8= 3600
I fill in "Value" 3600 and "next scan".
Found: 0...
What happened?
It's the same with 4 and 2 Bytes, i agreed "also read-only memory".
Maybe it doesn't work with Empire Earth II?
What am I going to do?

empire earth ii does not look like an ancient flash AS2 game so I really doubt you have to multiply by 8
and try different types like float and double
and make sure you target the correct process. (In this case, NOT firefox or anything related to your browser)

The resources are stored in float (if I remember correctly).
