Okay, got a RANDOM BSOD, and then when it restarts, i login and. "Preparing new desktop". I'm like "WTF" and now everything is fucked up and my desktop is like a new windows one and everythigns all weird. None of my programs or data was touched, thankfully. This is acutally the second bsod i got today. Could this be a virus???!?! Or is it my AV sandboxing and denying connections to? Comodo keeps sandboxing some of my system files and blocking the connections they're outputting. Could this be the problem? SS(s) of desktop:
http://img201.imageshack.us/g/333ac.png/ (it won't let me ccopy and paste image links)
So...what should I do? This all started happening when my AV went crazy for some reason and started sandboxing everything. So should I just reinstall windows?
.::EDIT::.
Also, notice the path in the picture where I'm SS'd the picture properties.
Few questions:
I know I asked in RS, but not sure if they were trolling me or not.
Can I reinstall all my steam games after a reinstall by just redownloading client, logging in, and redownloading all my games?
Will I lose any friends on steam? Will my stuff in tf2 be affected? (I'm guessing no)

Possibly something just corrupted your User Files. Backup your data, create a new user account. Then delete your current account. Move all your backed up data to this new user account. NOTE this won't stop your AV from sandboxing everything.

| My registry is also fucked up, fucked it up way back with CCleaner, don't know if that could be causing anything. Plus when I was a noob i downloaded lots of shit and i don't know for sure if my computer is virus free. Plus all the system file editing....umm I'm just thinking that I should reinstall, yes no? because mah system is very corrupt in general, just never had problems tilll now.

You better have system restore turned on, or you are fucked.
XP:
Start -> All Programs -> Accessories -> System Tools -> System Restore.
Choose the restore point before your BSOD.
Vista/7:
Start -> All Programs -> Accessories -> System Tools -> System Restore.
Choose the restore point before your BSOD.
See what I did thur
If you can't do the above, post back.
We have more options before doing something like deleting the user account and losing ALL your personal files.
Edit: There is a reason CCleaner prompts you do backup your registry every time it makes a change.

| YES, you don't even need the disks, just reinstall steam and use your login those games are tied to your login now.

Will I lose any friends on steam? (I'm guessing no) | Nope, once you reinstall steam all your friends will still be there, it's server sided.
| Quote: | | Will my stuff in tf2 be affected? | Only if you don't backup and save your game files first.
If the system is hosed to the point you say, I'd backup anything you want to save, save games, apps that you had to search for what have you and start fresh.

sfc /scannow. May require windows disc. If a file of windows is fucked, this will repair.
Type it into windows start search and an exe will appear. Run it as admin.

This might fix it.
SO might checkdisk.
(My )Computer -> Right click on C: drive -> Properties -> Tools tab -> Error Checking -> Tick both boxes -> Restart computer
If it didn't do a checkdisk, then do the same exact steps again and it should work.

Sucks that you had to reinstall, make sure you make a restore point, or burn some image disks of your system in this pristine state.
