|
|
Hello,
Yesterday I bought a game called Dreamfall, installed it and tried to run it. Then it asked me to install extra librarys (for Starforce, but I didnt know that). I did that, had to reboot so I did, and now windows 7 cant startup anymore.
So I tried the startup repair thing which turned out on an error rather then a fix:
Root cause found:
Unspecified changes to system configuration might have caused the problem
error code = 0x490
So Im no longer sure how to get it to work again (I dont want to format my computer as the windows xp part still works).
Does anybody have an idea how to fix this, as Im kinda out of ideas?

| Pop in your Win7 disc and start it up. Click on Repair computer and look for system restore. Select the date before this happen and hit apply.

Already thought of that, but I have no date before it happened (didnt install it too long ago), so that wont help. Going to format it tonight if theres no solution at 7 GMT (as I need it working on friday).
Edit: Formatting time, thanks for the help nonetheless.

You may need to use Startup Repair to fix your problem. To do the process, boot from your Windows 7 DVD. Wait for the Press any key to boot from CD or DVD message to show up and press a key. You must make your computer boot from the Windows 7 DVD because if it doesn’t, you will need to boot from the DVD again. So, never miss that message and press a key. Not pressing will make your computer boot to the current operating system that you have in your hard drive.

This is what happens when draconian drm runs on a system. I blame Starforce.
