I'd like to suggest that a chat box is implemented, I think it would be a nice addition of you ask me.

No one uses IRC anymore. It's the digital equivalent of 8-track tapes.

That's a bad analogy.
There isn't an equivalent to IRC that is better imo.
IRC is on the decline on some of the larger networks (e.g. Quakenet currently @ 174069 online users when this post was made) however there is still a large number of users on a lot of smaller personal servers.

irc will probably be going nowhere anywhere soon regardless of what you think. some networks are still very active (gaming especially) and offer automated ways to set up games with others.
it's the way to set up pick up games for the most part. join a queue, it fills up, it assigns you a team, voice server, and game server.

the reason why it's using google because it helps relieve the strain on the server, making cef crazy fast.

It was something that was implemented during the mooplestory days.
Think about how much of the load has been "downgraded" since the section was shut down, I thought it would be reasonable to re-enable it.

What I was saying is that people don't really use MSN messenger anymore and stuff. Now that myspace, facebook, and other websites have a built in messenger, people just use that.
Of course that wouldn't work on CEF. But no one wants to download, install, and run a separate program to chat anymore either. So here is my suggestion to Dark Byte and I hope he reads this:
Mibbit. It's an online IRC. If there was a link to Mibbit on the forums/website, a lot more people would be willing to use it. It's really good.

Not even in the slightest bit close to the truth. IRC is still majorly used by tons of people and for various reasons. Slov mentioned gaming which is one of the main purposes of it now, but there are still millions of others using it for other purposes. (Illegal activities included.)
MSN is far from dead as well.
7/6/2009 - ~350 million active users online at one given time.
2/10/2010 - Windows Live team released the following stats:
- Average length of conversion sessions: 9 - 11 minutes
- ~59% of sessions are over 5 minutes, ~10% over 20 minutes long.
- 1.6 billion sessions per month over 30 minutes long.
- 380 million photos per month are exchanged. 4.5 billion a year.
- 230 million voice/video conversions per month.
- Average voice session: 18.2 minutes.
- Average video session: 13.3 minutes.
- 9% of video calls and 13% of voice calls are longer then 1 hour.
Along with the estimated total of ~300 million active users monthly.
300 million seems a bit higher then none.

ohh, i see. I also agree that it should be reenabled... unless it will make the forum slow, keep it on.

Wow those are some interesting stats. I need more/better friends... after deleting a bunch, I have 48 buddies and out of all of them, only 1 is ever online most of the time. Though it's probably because I've keep them all for years, and don't really have a way of recruiting more...
Anyway, like I said, what I meant is that a dedicated program for IRC is no longer as practical as a web IRC. I always keep about 8 windows and 10-30 tabs open at once. It's enough clutter, but I'd rather have a tab than a window.
That's where mibbit comes in. NidoMS had it and I used it constantly, as it was a good place to get instant info.

Dear science I couldn't agree more. Hacking games is legal, even online ones, as long as you aren't directly cheating them out of any money. It was the whole private server section deal that ruined it for everyone... it wasn't even good anyway, it was basically an advertising forum.
Please bring back the ms section, and sue Mr. cornshit for lost advertising revenue.
Edit: lol why is there a wordfilter on "Korn"?

another reason why no web chat is that it weeds out the useless webgame hackers from the real game hackers (because they can't be fucked to install another program and often don't even know how to learn new things, let alone know the difference between imul and mul )
anyhow, if your only concern is that it doesn't run in a tab in your browser then install a plugin that deals with that. The chatzilla plugin for example (i know it's available for firefox)
and then go to irc://p2p-network.net/cef (that link is clickable for a reason)

Dark Byte. You never cease to amaze me.
I would propose to you if I could. Your mind is among the genius in history. Up there with Einstein and Plato.
I now feel embarrassed that I wasted your time you spent reading my post. Is there somewhere I can donate to you?
Your knowledge is impeccable. I need not say more.
