It should do, yeah.

Most RAM modules have a sticker on them that say how large they are and what frequency they are. Unless it's Kingston.

Anything we do with that RAM won't be brand new or rocket fast.

What do you want to be able to do with your computer?

You'll have to buy a second hand motherboard. I don't think you can buy new ones which support DDR400/533. *Doesn't look on Newegg*

Dell motherboard are special made, so the chances of finding one are slim. The only way to get if is from Dell itself.
As for the system,

$436.92

All necessary components are added (just in case), you can remove it if you really don't need it.

It astounds me how good kls is at finding computer builds for ridiculous prices.

Edit: The RAM he has won't be supported on that motherboard,

"DDR2 1200(O.C.)/1066/800/667"

However considering the price, it's probably worth upgrading the lot.

The reason why I've added the ram to the list. IMO it's better go get a new ram as it runs at 800MHz as oppose to 533. You don't want a slow ram to drag down the new system.

In all honesty, it'll be the hard drive being the bottleneck in the system. But yeah, it's a good time to upgrade everything in one swoop rather than upgrading all but one component to find a few weeks down the track it crashes or something equally annoying.
