Does it do any damage to my hardware?
Is it fine as long as it doesn't overheat?

It's no problem at all. In fact shutting the computer off & on all the time is bad(well, not exactly bad but it's not good).

Having a stable temp running throughout the circuits constantly is good.

How long are you planning to leave your computer 24/7?

I leave my PC on 24/7, i don't think any problems should arise unless you don't keep an eye on temperatures.

Hmm, I leave my comp on during I sleep and restart it after I wake up.

Does it count as shutting off & on?

2 weeks or so, with some rest for my PC in between.

I always monitor the temperatures so no problem there Smile

I also try to end useless processes, turn off my keyboard's LED and monitor when not in use.

That's cool, what are your temps?

My gfx seem to be abit hotter if I leave it on for around 10 hours and my display drivers crash occasionally. I've tried reinstalling drivers, is this a hardware issue? I'm on HD5830.

It wont hurt it unless you run a heavy game 24/7.

By temps do you guys mean too cold or too hot? My computer stays on all the time, and my room is pretty cold pretty much all the time.

just use sleep mode, it literally takes 5 seconds to resume out of.

click mouse, sit in chair, ready for usage.

Well, my temps don't really mean a whole lot to anybody else. Different parts have different safe working temperatures. My 4870 idles at 71C and is safe to work up to like 103C.

erm, not so much safe as it might still function. working at such temperatures will decrease it's lifespan.

103 is bordering on thermal shutdown.

It must be old as shit. The newer versions of the 4800 cards idl at 30 - 40c and underclock themselves when not running 3d applications.
