Perhaps I am just an oldfag, who is used to his old ways and terminology he learned years ago.

But starting off my "forum career" in the IGN boards, I have always despised the words "Avatar" and "Forum", and instead prefer the terms "Icon" and "Boards", respectively.

Is it just because it's what I grew up with, or does anyone else agree that display pictures sound better when referred as "Icons", and message boards sound better when referred to as "Boards"?

When one says Icon, they usually refer to what's on their desktop, when one says boards, one thinks said person is talking about image boards.

Slang and terminology change, it for ever will.
