How do I cheat?

| ok well if you can see im new like very new. my friend told me bout this site so i tried it. the bad part, he lives in kansas and im over 1000 miles away. so anyways,i play a runescape private server (silver shadows). my friend was sitting there and spawning or doing something using this engine to get a godsword. i was like that is cool and i was wanting to know how. i completed the tutorial but still cant find out. Sorry if i posted in wrong section.

Runescape is one of many games where the information or data of the game, is held on the server.
Cheat Engine is a program that alter's memory or code on a certain game or program (On you're computer, AKA the Client)
Cheat Engine cannot edit or "hack" data/information in Runescape because all the games Data (Inventory, items, skills, armors, attack speeds) are held on the server.
Now with some games, certain values/data/information such as Skill cooldowns or attack speeds are held on the client & can be edited using Cheat Engine, but Runescape has 0 data/info on the Client (aka you're computer).
So you're friend was either the host of the server, or the server is completely different from all other RuneScape servers and holds data on the Client, and what he was doing IS possible with Cheat Engine, But i HIGHLY doubt it.
And this is in the wrong section.

He didn't use Cheat Engine, he must have using another hacking software.

Downloading game from that website now.
EDIT: like i thought, this server is like all other Runescape servers and holds all game information on the server. You're friend is a admin/mod of the game.

WPE Pro or CE can both send packets so it is quite possible but hard to do because you have to search for the addresses.

In which case you'd probably have to decrypt the packets (depending on how protective the server admins are)

I have experience in hacking runescape, I can tell you that your best bet is RSBot (if it still exists). Other than that, there is really no hacks, mainly due to the fact that nearly everything is server sided.
And from my experience, unless you are super into the game for some reason, you'll use RSbot for 2-3 days and then get incredibly fucking bored of it.
This thread did remind me that runescape exists though, and I may go try it again sometime soon with RSbot. It definitely is fun, but definitely is not that addictive.
