So what is some good software that records the sound that happens on teh computer?
Like recording a conversation on skype.

You could record a conversation on skype simply by switching sound pickup to Record Master instead of microphone.
On the other hand, in order for your own voice to get picked up you'd have to enable your mic in a way that when you speak it's submitted throughout your speakers. When I was on winXP I used free-hq recorder for thep urpose (I could simply go to options & turn from microphone to record master & it'd work)
