This, but isn't it sometimes like even though its higher in the series, doesnt necessarily mean its better? _________________

It will fit in any PCI-E slot, yes. Note that bundle you are looking at sucks big time, to be totally honest. Phenom I's are extremely inefficient and the HDD would be a 5400RPM model (hence the "low power"). Other components are also hardware of the last age, mainly the DDR2 memory and the motherboard (700 series chipset).
You'd be better off in buying a completely custom build, preferably through Newegg rather than TigerDirect. |

See attached. Keep in mind that shipping cost is not calculated yet.
It's on the lower end of today's computer spectrum, but at least it still has some life left in it. You should also be able to OC that processor to 3.5GHz without much hassle, a voltage bump here and there. Keep in mind that you won't be able to max out some games with 1920x1080 resolutions, but it should be at least ~15% better than the TD bundle and card you looked at, even more so when you OC that 4850 and the processor. |

He's going off general objects, not just video cards.

Sorry, Elpacco. the 8800GT beats the shit out of the 9600GT from what I've heard numerous times |

Saying is: Just because it's newer, doesn't mean it's better. | Well I understand the saying, but cards of the same series are released around the same time, which is what I'm getting at. When AMD/nVidia releases a new series of cards, they're going to name the best ones with the higher numbers in the series, so it would never happen the other way around. It probably could happen with other things, but we were talking about video cards so I assumed as much.
@Nevergreen, 8800GT is part of the 8000 series, while the 9600GT is part of the 9000 series. Two different series. _________________

Implying that the 9000 is not higher than 8000?
Also, the 4850 was far superior than it's less well known brother, the 4860. |
