Speedhack doesn't work!?

I am trying to hack a web flash game.
The game has a timer and I want to slow down or stop it.

First I am trying to use speedhack and set it to 0 to stop it, however, after I press it, the timer was stopped, few seconds later I released the speedhack, I found the timer was actually running when I used the speedhack! It just APPARENTLY stopped.

Why this happened??

How can I tackled it?

Yes. (If the speedhack works, Then the timer is memory/client based)
