They are for completely different things.

I use xFire to clock my hours on games...

Steam is a digital distribution, digital rights management, multiplayer and communications platform developed by Valve Corporation.

Xfire (pronounced "X-Fire") is a freeware instant messaging service targeted at gamers, that also serves as a game server browser and has various other features.

So, what is your conclusion?
Should I get Xfire? I already have Steam.

Meh, do whatever you want.
It doesn't weight a lot and it's mostly used to join FPS servers.
