I have been having a lot of trouble with my computer recently so I would like to know a few things.
1. What are the main causes of freezing.
2. What would cause my monitor to go into an irreversible powersaving mode (I have to restart my computer to fix it and now my computer shows nothing but white for the first 5 minutes.)
I have tried turning off powersaving mode but it didn't work.

irreversible? Like it gets stuck after power savings? This is a w7 problem as far as I know. At least I have heard of it happening on w7 the most.
Turn off powersavings
Turn off Hibernation
Turn off screen savers
Make sure everything in power options is on max performance
As for the first one. Too much stress on the cpu would cause it to not be able to handle whats running, and then freeze. Thats why when you get a virus that runs up your cpu usage, your pc freezes.

Yeah that would happen to me, just check all your power connections and also it is sometimes a driver issue.

Does that include the part before windows is started ?
If so, it's a hardware problem

The main problem of freezing (from what I know) is low system maintenance such as defragging your hardrive only happens once a year, low system specs trying to run something that takes too much resources, or not having enough ram. Also, remember that when you get rid of something in your recycle bin, it's not actually gone. It's compressed and stored somewhere you can't find it. These compressed files can pile up over the years and slow it down a little. I would recommend getting something that completely destroys the files that you thought you deleted.

Way to copy and paste.
But his screen is losing signal from his GPU, which then to get it back is forced to hard shutdown.
So no you might want to go reread some more information.

I didn't copy and paste any of that :\
Besides, what relevance does it have anyways?
Think before you post.

Check for convex/blown caps on the motherboard or graphic card itself. They sometimes lead to abnormal behavior.

Because that is a OS freeze up, he is having a hardware malfunction. Just go delete all your posts because you obviously didn't think before you posted.
