|
|
In IE whenever I click on a link to go to a website or something it opens up a new window and redirects me to google.com
I know this is a virus or spyware, but I scanned with nod32 and it found no traces
I did remove something a while back but is there a way to reset internet explorer?
Maybe some settings were changed
What else can I use to scan thoroughly for viruses or spyware because nod32 found nothing
EDIT: Sorry I meant that when I click on a link it opens up a new IE window that goes to google.com, almost like a popup but instead its a IE window
Edit 2: Heres my hijackthis log

Download malwarebytes and run it.
If that doesn't work, post a hijack this log.

I did a malware bytes scan for flash memory first and it found 8 infections
I removed them
Doing a full system scan now
Edit: It found 5 traces, deleted them
I think the problem is solved now, Wow dont understand why nod32 didn't find anything
Thanks alot +rep

Internet Explorer is a poor browser. I recommend that you switch to Google Chrome or Firefox.

Let's also try to solve his problem rather than just pushing it into a pile, for future reference(s).

Check your hosts file (C:\Windows\system32\drivers\etc)
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [{8625BBDA-2CC4-63F4-94BF-6009EA772844}] C:\Users\Kunal\AppData\Roaming\Loahow\omsyu.exe
O23 - Service: Security Accounts Manager SamSsWPCSvc (SamSsWPCSvc) - Unknown owner - C:\Windows\system32\abgx360h.exe
These two lines are kind of suspicious. Try to delete the run strings from the registry.

Clearing cache and history didn't work
My hosts file has only this line
127.0.0.1 localhost
How would I delete the run strings?

Open Run, type regedit then look for those directories.
