Can not get back to desktop after freezing game

As the subject says, I'm freezing a game with Cheat Engine, and then go back to the game, and then I can't get back to the desktop. By luck I could unfreeze the game with the click on the "Enable Speedhack" checkbox and unchecked it.

Is there any way I can freeze a game and easily go back to the desktop?

I'm sure you know about Alt-Tab.



You could run the game in window mode, if it doesn't bother you too much. Or just hit the windows key, or even ctrl alt delete.

I know what you mean... This doesn't happen only with a CE game freeze. Every time the game freezes...
I tried everything like alt+tab, alt+esc, windows key, ctrl+alt+esc, alt+F4, windows key+D...

can't even crash the game. I must restart my PC after this.

Edit:
...and no my PC didn't freeze. I tried all the time to close the game with the invisible task manager and my mouse lol. It worked one time but I closed many important windows processes too xD

This is very annoying. I can't use anything to get back to the desktop. I had to do CTRL+ALT+DELETE to get up the "Security Screen" or whatever it is called and log out. Only logging out could shut down the game.

My Windows is setup to have a login user thus using ctrl-alt-del I Choose switch User then login again to my same user (since I only have one setup). The annoying part is that you can't click part of the screen within the screen resolution of your game Thus it's like the key and mouse is freeze. What I do since my screen resolution is 1366x768 and the game resolution is 800x600 I setup CE at far right of the screen and also the memory viewer is already shown and dragged it at far right. Whenever you use the method to go back to desktop it will put CE within the center screen but you can still click the upper right window of CE (the window bar that enables you to move the application) and memory viewer without freezing the mouse and key and dragged it again at the far side of the desktop. And whenever your mouse and keys are stuck again just press ctrl-alt-del and click start-task-manager.

Kinda annoying and very tedious to do but I don't have a soft-ice like debugger, I don't have another laptop to setup remote debugging and I am serious on cheating the game thus I don't mind the trouble of doing it Very Happy

Also note that sometimes the CE application is clickable thus you don't have to do the other routines. But this rarely happens to me.
