I always thought 3d modeling software wasn't free, and was very hard to do so. But recently i came across Sculptris. I though that people in here might want to check it out. It's a very small program too.

sculptris is for 3D sculpting like Mudbox, Zbrush,3Dcoat,etc.

there is blender for 3Dmodeling like 3DsMax,Maya,Softimage,Cinema4D.

and yeah it is pretty good. I posted it some months ago.

I use blender. It's free and does all the stuff the expensive ones do if you're willing to get used to the weird setup.

anim8or is very basic and the resulting images are a bit crappy but it might be a good intro to poly modeling. sculptris is awesome for high-poly sculpting.
