Windows Update > Change settings

Change your update behavior from the pulldown menu.

My pc > right click > manage > services > Windows update > disable. No one needs windows update currently. Either you are updated on xp to the fullest extent needed or you use w7 which is stable without any updates at all so far. It really has no help for now. I personally rather not use WU for driver downloads on w7 either.
