| depends what you want. DX10.1 or 11. DX11 is the future but most still run on 10. You can get a Radeon 5870 for 400 bucks, or if you cannot afford it, a 4850 is 100 bucks. 4850 is dx10.1 and 5780 is 11. Both are good stuff. |

define hardcore gaming first.
if you playing console port, a sub 100-200 card would serve you will.
if you want hardcore games like Metro2033, Crysis2, benchmarking, you are better off with looking at what Nvidia/Ati (5850,5870,GTX 480,470offers with their new generation cards

getting like, 30fps average at my resolution
Friend peer pressured me into crossfiring so i can do some 120hz fps gaeming ( it was fucking stupid, wasted my time setting it up, everything is too fucking fluid, although no fps drop on hueg ass explosion is nice)
you should buy another 4850 for shits and giggle.

Hmm hard core thats hard i would have to say large based mmo's but i like to do alot of offline gaming to But my main def of hardcore gaming is using 8 gb of broad band in 2 weeks if you catch my drift.

That's nothing. On a 4 megabit connection I have managed about 150 gigs in under a month. Alienware is crap, get a 5770.

Well, if you simply want best videocard out there at the time, you're looking at the 5970, however it's $600 (USD). Be more descriptive of what exactly you want. If you ask for best, we're going to assume you don't have a budget.
