conformity doesn't always solve the problem.
keep hiding online and you'll just make it harder for yourself when you need to enter the real world.

you can be online, have a good body, and be normal in the real world. <- a hundred times better than being fat and hiding online because of it. |
you wouldn't understand. it's not even about trying. we can try 10x harder than everyone else and we'd always get prejudiced on cause we're fat. you think i wanna be like this ? every time i see a girl, i get self-conscious about my weight. they take a look at me and i already know they be judging me. don't come at me with your obnoxious bullshit thinking you know me. it's not about a choice man..
for you at least you can try and your efforts go somewhere. i can keep trying and all people see is some fat dude, not his actions or words |
I used to weigh in at about 240 about four years ago.
To make matters worse, i tended to keep to my self and only allowed my circle of friends to extend to about a handful of people. Now this was in High School. <3
First year of highschool was the worst. The whole bullying thing never happened, but i did get a few stares and the typical reaction against fat people. When summer came around, I started loosing weight because I hated how i was seen. When my sophomore year came around i had dropped about 20 pounds from 240. By the time i finished my sophomore year, i was down to 190. That summer i dropped down a bit more to 170ish. When i returned to school, i was completely different. I started doing my personal training and gained a couple of pounds of muscle and now stand at 185 pounds and almost no fat. The little that i have is irrelevant.
Don't want to sound harsh or vain, but if you don't want to feel self conscious, then just make yourself look good or transparent. Loose weight, stop seeing yourself as a tub of lard. You think that being fat isn't a choice? Oh please, get real. Unless you got some genetic problem that causes you to gain weight, then it is a choice, and it's a reversible one too. You eat excessively because you aren't motivated to loose weight, you eat excessively because it makes you feel good. Hell, you might even eat excessively because of self loathe.
You know what? The only thing that's stopping you from having a "normal" body is yourself and your shitty self esteem. Keep denying that you don't have a problem and you'll only grow fatter. Get off your ass and do some exercise. Put the fork down and watch what you eat. This isn't impossible to do - trust me, i've been there. Loosing weight is not as hard as you think once you get over the mental barriers that YOU set up on yourself.
-
And now for your reply.
You can try 10x harder than anyone else and you'll loose weight 10x faster than them. However, there's a catch. You need to give you up the destructive lifestyle that you're living.
If you don't want to be fat, then loose the weight -- simple as that. And yes, it is that simple. It may sound a bit too cliche by now, but self control is the key to loosing weight -- and it's not impossible at all unless you go a serious genetic disorder.
Loosing weight improves body image and mental health. You'll feel more comfortable looking at girls, and they won't judge you when they look at you. I know i'm being harsh, but this isn't BS. You can't keep living in your little fantasy world where you expect everyone to treat you like a god. You'll be looked down upon for being fat because you'll be associated with a slob. You'll be looked down upon by women because few, if any, would actually take a fat, unhealthy man over a healthy one. <- this isn't a social problem, this is rooted to survival. Healthier men promote better lives and better offsprings. Fatter men are inferior. Even the fat men prefer the skinny woman over the fat one. How's that for hypocrisy?
All of this is avoidable. Make the choice to lose weight and act it out. Make that choice and you get the opportunity to not be looked down upon like the tub of lard that you see yourself as.
This was a long, harsh reply, but I wrote it with good intentions. Hope it helps.

TO OP:
First off, stop taking advice from people who have had a metabolism-friendly life from birth. Their advice is shit, because they think that because they lived like that and are slim, everybody will be. That is, in general, a pretty stupid assumption on their part. My stepbrother and I have always eaten similar food. Our activities didn't differ much either, as we did the same sports, and played outside together throughout most of our youth. Yet my brother has always had a thin, mesomorphs body, while I on the other hand, have been a husky (e.g. fat) teenager from my seventh to seventeenth birthday. BUT, I have found a way to keep a good weight after this period. Therefore my advice is worth something, because I speak from experience on your side of the coin.
Advice #1
Food. It doesn't matter so much what you eat, as it does WHEN you eat. Of course the stuff you digest should add to your health, but a steady diet is more important nonetheless. Try setting times per day where you HAVE to eat. Also, some people think it's smart to eat five or six times a day because bodybuilders do so as well. Well, bodybuilders train six to eight hours a day, do you? Probably not. Hence, I would recommend three balanced meals a day. Eat a bowl of yoghurt/cereal in the morning (for me it's between 9~10), accompanied by a glass of milk. In the afternoon, eat four sandwiches with whatever once again accompanied by a glass of milk (for me it's between 1~2). Conclude the day with dinner, which should always be fish/meat, potatoes, vegetables (for me this meal is between 6~7). Don't drink sodas! Shit like that will only feed the problem you're dealing with now. Also, light products are pure torture, since the substance which replaces the sugar makes you feel hungry. I recommend two glasses of milk a day, accompanied by two liters of water a day. Don't ever cut down on drinking! It will help you lose weight greatly! My final recommendation on the food part is: two pieces of fruit a day. I recommend a banana between 2~6, to quench the feeling of hunger, and an orange in the evening (around nine or so), to replace the snack you'd be eating normally.
Advice #2
Exercise. The idea that all fat people should do bodybuilding at the gym, is complete and utter bullshit. First off, the massive amount of fat hanging around you will have already given you more muscle than those leafs you see running around. The best advice I have for someone suffering from obesity, is walk for 1~2 hours a day. Just walk. If you have dogs, take them with you. If you don't have dogs, put your iPod on and stroll wherever. If you have lost a considerable amount of weight, start jogging/running. And, finally, if you feel confident enough about your body, start swimming. Once you start swimming for two hours a day, the weight will pretty much fly off instantly. The reason I wouldn't recommend bodybuilding, is because not A LOT of fat is needed to gain muscle mass. Plus, you damage your body doing weightlifting and such, while already having added so much weight to your body due to the obesity. Your joints will be seriously damaged due to such reckless behavior. So just do the following: walk->jog->run->swim, after which you can try to do some bodybuilding. Point being that your body is already prone to gaining mass, so once you've reached the point of bodybuilding, it'll be easy. I do recommend four meals when training for 2 hours a day though.
Advice #3
Rest. Your body needs a steady cycle of sleep. This'll improve your health and thus weight stabilization greatly. Also, avoid stress. Stress is one evil son of a bitch when it comes to weight. People suffering from stress are more likely to mess up their sleep- & eating patterns. So stay calm and collected!
I hope this advice will help you in some way. If you do all three things, there is no doubt in my mind that you will lose the weight in a very rapid fashion, and will be able to stay on the desired weight after losing it.
Good luck,
Augustine
