How do I cheat?

This is what happens!
I open up cheat engine and i opet tutorial.
Then i find value for first tast but when i try to change it nothing happens.
I cant change it this also happens in other games and programs.

make sure your antivirus of firewall isn't blocking ce...

also, make sure that if you have vista, right-click on ce and hit Run as Administrator.

then only thing that might work is reinstalling windows
