I'm debating on whether to get a PS3 or Xbox 360?
Which is better for online gaming? (I hate playing alone by myself, since it's boring)
Which is more reliable when it comes to breaking down? (I heard Microsoft added a Jasper chip which prevents the RRoD, is that true?)
Does the PS3 overheat easily?
I'll be mostly online gaming for 4+ hours, which system can handle it the best when it comes to using it for hours?
If you have a PS3 or Xbox 360, have yours broken down yet? Why? For what reason?
I'm going to play games like MW2,BC2, and more fun games for online.

Why should I get that system? Will it last awhile for me?
What should I get with the PS3 or Xbox?

Thanks in advance.

360 if you don't mind paying $5 a month, less if you buy the 12 month card on sale (they go on sale about once every 3 months).

The Jasper chipset greatly reduces the chances of getting the RRoD, bringing the Xbox 360 back within normal console failure ranges, so you don't really have to worry about it. I got my X360 right when the Jasper chip was released, and it hasn't broken on me yet. Had it for around 1 year and 4 months.

PS3 has free online but less functions, like cross-game chat. Also, PSN servers are retardedly slow sometimes. Downloading the MAG demo when it came out was such a pain in the ass.

So if you don't mind paying for online, it really comes down to the exclusives. Whether you like Halo or Killzone... etc.

But since you're playing MW2, I would suggest the X360 since you get the DLC sooner.

I have both consoles, and it's PS3 hands down. Better exclusive titles, better controller, better support, free internet gaming, way less hardware issues.

I work for a company that does console repairs and we get five faulty 360s for every faulty PS3. Either the PS3s have a much lower fail rate (which is likely) or Sony has better warranty support.

Where do you work at?
What kind of PS3 is it? Regular or the Elite?
And what kind of PS3 was it?

Microsoft has way better warranty than Sony.

You get 3 years of RRoD warranty, so if anything happens, you can just ship them your broken Xbox and they will fix it and mail it back to you. Or mail you another Xbox is yours if unfixable.

Do you gotta purchase the 3 years warranty of RRoD or is it free?

Xbox.

It has a better community in my opinion. Yes it does cost money but the PS3 will have to pay soon too.

Xbox has Project Natal while the PS3 has Playsation Move.

The Xbox 360 originally had a solder problem. But this has been fixed a long time ago. I've had my Xbox since September 2008. Not a single Red Ring, and not a single problem except my little cousin dropped one of my controllers off a balcony, it was a sticky ending. In case you ever do get RRoD, Microsoft will fix/replace for free with in a week, even after warranty expires.

I find the PS3 controller much worse then the Xbox's. The Xbox controller is made to fit your hand. The PS3 controller is symmetrical which seems normal but after you play the Xbox controller, it feels a bit funky. It is extremely light and feels like it can break in your hand. The joysticks are right next to each other so it feels a bit odd, especially when trying to press triangle using both joysticks. Also, when you have multiple PS3's and you try connect the controller to a PS3, it just joins a random PS3. That was extremely annoying. With the Xbox, you press a button on the actual console and then press a button on the controller and they will sync together with out randomly joining random neighbor or second consoles.

I used one of those Bluetooth headsets for the PS3 and the quality was very bad. Xbox 360 wired and wireless quality is very good compared.

PS3 does have Blu-Ray drives which is one good feature about it but it is slower. Also to play a game, is a complex process. You must copy the game and then install it to the hard drive. WTF? This isn't a PC dudes.
Xbox just put the disc in, and you can either press A on the game icon in the menu to run it, or you can press X to install to hard drive. It took agggesss on the PS3. Also those updates were long, slow and annoying.
I also think the PSN servers are either slow or just busy.

One feature I wish Xbox had is a Webbrowser. Other then that, I'm a Microsoft, and Windows 7 + Xbox 360 was my idea.

No doubt the PS3 and Xbox 360 are both good consoles and both have their pro's and con's.

The 360 is infamous for its community of whiny 11-year-olds, none of that on the PS3.

@Swat, No, PSN won't have to pay soon, or ever, for that matter. I don't know where you got that idea from.

As I said, I've had my Xbox for over a year now.
Ask around though.
