Any DOS sucks balls in my opinion. I wouldn't be surprised if there isn't a single DOS based PC still alive today.

Best/weirdest/most unique? I'd have to give that to GNU/Linux operating systems. All these individual packages coming together (and actually working), the chaotic community-involved development of packages and kernel alike, the endless possibilities.

Case in point:

The best kind of Kubuntu Wink

I thought i would add good old Windows 2000 to this list, i believe service packs are still coming out and they are either up to Service Pack 5 or 6 and it is soo reliable.

Linux customized to your own liking is your "most unique" operating system.

Creating your own OS from scratch will be the "most unique".

If people know how to write kernels themselves it would. Alas, most "unique" OSes are simply derivatives of widespread Linux distros.

Not that it's impossible, just a lot less practical than customizing some BSD or Linux kernel, where you can have support and a community.

Windows XP hands-down. I don't like win7, certainly not vista, or even linux/ubuntu that much. After trying everything I can only stand windows XP.

I was only answering the "best" part-- one OS can't be all three, best/weirdest/most unique, can it?

If you made it yourself and consider it the best, then it can.
