I guess im kinda late.. I just found out that theres a USB 3.0 just recently. Considering that its 3x faster, i was wondering if it was worth buying? Its around 30-60$ for a 2 USB PCI card.

No, unless you are transporting a bunch of large files to and fro through USB.

You would require a HDD with USB 3 support which is still quite rare and would be very pricey.
Wait till USB 3 starts to be come mainstream.

USB3.0 is great for tablet and Midi Devices
USB2.0 was somewhat ok but always get some delay on the feedback.

I'm 99% sure that 99% of the time that is no fault of USB, I'd say it's caused by the device that it is connected to not using USB to its full potential.

3.0 is a pretty silly standard. A mate of mine did his research paper on the new USB 3.0. Apparently there is backward compatibility from 3.0 to 2.0, but a 3.0 won't work on a 2.0, due to crappy wiring (summarized his rant on how crappy it was in two sentences, awesome).

A lot of video editors still prefer to firewire over USB is due to it's ability to maintain a sustain transfer rate even though USB 2.0 technically is faster.
USB 3.0 on the other hand uses a bi-directional protocol where USB 2.0 was uni-directional, this helps push USB 3.0 to achieve a transfer rate of up to 5Gb/s.
SATA I = 1.5GB/s
SATA 3G (SATA II) = 3.0Gb/s
USB 3.0 = 5Gb/s
SATA 6 (SATA III) = 6.0Gb/s

USB 3.0 is going to be much better than USB 2.0. It would take at least 2 years for it to become mainstream though.
