Not alot of landscaping painting are gradient, the gradient it for a sky, and professionally made to look like the sky, a back ground for a signature or a avatar or a computer back ground etc, looks retarded if it's just gradients.

Paintings start out with a tone. And usually end up being solid color, or a gradient.
