Ok, got all my pc parts, put it together, it wont turn on. I sit here shaking my head unable to figure it out. Turns out the wires from the case for the power button, and the colors on the mobo do not match up. The orange cable on the case is for power, but the plug color is red on the mobo. The booklet for the mobo was zero help. Is color coded wires and a booklet just for show, or what?

A long time ago, there was a standard with the wiring color.
Red for HDD, Green for Power LED as the HDD led is always red and the Power light is always green.
These days some cased comes with a purple color cable while the color code on the board itself doesn't have any of it.

Don't worry about the color code too much as it's not important, just look at the label on the header as it will tell you what they are and plug that to the correct pins labeled in your mobo reference manual.

Look at your manual and the label on your headers.
Colors on the board is not important since my board has no colors all.

Just check all your connections, I though I had the power button wired wrong and tried multiple times to fix it, when It turned out I had some USB cords that ran to the top of my case plugged in backwards.
