|
|
I have tried hacking the Java game Minecraft. I'm doing this on Single Player, and I can change any address. However, I cannot find the base (green) address. I went through 45 pointers, and they all referred to eachother. Ill post the screenie.
What the hell is going on?
EDIT: I'm sorry if this has been posted somewhere else, but I couldn't find it.

when you encounter an infinite loop try a different path
e.g instead of going with 048efdb0 try 140708c4 or even another one

| Considering the nature of the game, I would try the pscan, to quickly grab a list of many potentials..

I tried to pointer scan, but I got an error. Also, I didn't find any other paths that were actually working.
EDIT: Off topic, but I tried speedhacking this same game. The game freaking "adapts" to the speed I set it to, then I find myself going at normal speed when its at like 30x.

i've already been through this exact scenario with minecraft.
i ended up just searching for the bytes the make up whatever instruction(s) handles what i was trying to change. the correct pointer will always be right around there.

just find what writes / accesses the address, go to instruction, write down the bytes that make it up for future reference.
search that

Instruction? You mean the More Info thing? I've already tried the only one that is actually relevant = eax. Could you make a screenshot or something to help me out? (Sorry for being a noob, I still fail at cheat engine)

*the instruction(s)
follow it to the memory viewer, it lists the bytes that make up the relevant instruction. you can just search those later so you (hopefully) end up at the same instruction, at which point you can set a breakpoint and check out what's going on.

I still don't understand.
I got as far as the memory viewer and copying the bytes, then I searched them and found the same address. I don't know the memory viewer that well, (but im learning it as we speak) and I dont know how to read the assembly code I see in there. (In other words, I have to know exactly what I'm supposed to do)

I'm supposing some things now:
As I remember, you start the game via java virtual machine, right?
-> Like in emulators or browsergames, you have got the problem that you dont hack the game directly, you hack the thing the game is published/shown by. Maybe thats the problem. Why could it be the problem? Because the Machine allocates dynamically the needed memory. And that happens someway randomly
In java pointers are not (directly?) existing. So perhaps that causes your problems, for example not finding the base.

| You could find a pointer to the base of emulated memory in those games Xenico. That usually gets it done.

I go to a website to play the game.
EDIT: (no shit, obviously I do)
But does anyone have strict and thorough instructions?
